As you may have already known, The Pennsylvania Ballet has undergone many changes in the past several years. From appointing a new Artistic Director to hiring – and letting go – many dancers, The Pennsylvania Ballet is transforming into Angel Corella’s ideal company. The upcoming 2016/2017 season for the company is an exciting one, featuring some full-length ballets, such as Cinderella and Le Corsaire, as well as various George Balanchine ballets and other contemporary works. Transitions are being made in The School of Pennsylvania Ballet as well, which is the feeder school into the main company. One of these BIG (and awesome) changes is that the school is now incorporating a Trainee Division.
I have been placed in the Trainee Division for the 2016/2017 season!!!!!
Words cannot express my excitement for what the new year will bring! Of course, I will be writing all about my experiences and opportunities with The Pennsylvania Ballet and life in Philadelphia.
Advice: The best thing you can do in a situation where a lot of change is occurring is just to keep an open and positive mind. With change comes opportunity…in ways you may not even had expected.
